About the Criteria Basic Skills Test 2
The CBST2 is a fast, customizable, and accessible test for assessing essential workplace problem-solving skills. It measures mathematical reasoning, abstract reasoning, verbal reasoning, critical reasoning, and checking accuracy. The modular format enables you to choose which components you’d like to assess. CBST2 is also adaptive and compatible with screen readers, offering a fast and friendly candidate experience.
Why Use the CBST2?
- Faster: Thanks to adaptive scoring, the CBST2 adjusts the difficulty of the questions as the candidate responds, pinpointing the candidate’s proficiency level faster, and with fewer questions than a non-adaptive assessment.
- Accessible: The CBST2 includes new screen-reader compatible items for assessing abstract reasoning and checking accuracy.
- Refreshed items: The CBST2 comprises of an extensive pool of questions from other validated Criteria assessments – the CCAT, UCAT, and CBST - with a visual refresh. It also has new question types measuring critical reasoning.
- Candidate-friendly: A faster assessment leads to a better experience, and tailoring the question difficulty to the candidate ensures the candidate doesn’t get frustrated by questions that are too easy or too hard.
- Rigorously validated: The CTRS was constructed through a rigorous validation process by our team of I/O psychologists.
- Job-relevance: Items are designed to be more contextually relevant to roles that commonly complete the CBST.
