Criteria Partners with Specialisterne to Increase Access to Employment for Neurodiverse Populations

LOS ANGELES, CA — April 2, 2021 Criteria, a market-leading SaaS people analytics platform, is pleased to announce a partnership with Specialisterne, an international, award winning non-profit setting the “gold standard” for neurodiversity employment.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Specialisterne to help augment the incredible work they do to expand access to employment for the neurodivergent population,” says Josh Millet, Founder & CEO of Criteria. “Assessments that measure job-related cognitive abilities like problem-solving and critical thinking can help identify talent that would have been otherwise overlooked. The primacy of interviewing in the hiring process has resulted in acute adverse impact against neurodivergent job seekers, and we look forward to helping Specialisterne find great employees for best-in-class employers.”

As a company dedicated to helping organizations make better and more equitable talent decisions, Criteria will provide its assessments to Specialisterne to offer its employer clients an objective and structured way to highlight talent that is often overlooked in a traditional hiring process.

In a 2017 study of working age adults with autism, 33% reported that they were employed compared to 79% amongst those without a disability. Specialisterne is a leader in harnessing talents of autistic individuals, and of others with similar neurodiversities, providing businesses with talented employees and providing recruits with the opportunity to sustain meaningful employment. Their mission is to educate stakeholders in talent and career development for neurodivergent persons through innovation, collaboration and knowledge sharing. The company works with a wide range of employers including Fortune 500 companies such as TD Bank, Wells Fargo, Bloomberg, JP Morgan Chase, Deloitte, IBM, and many more.

“Specialisterne has a unique perspective that has helped it to highlight the shortfalls in a typical recruitment process where highly capable and qualified candidates tend to be overlooked,” says Alan Kriss, CEO of Specialisterne. “By leveraging the knowledge and support of Criteria and its assessments, we are poised to make great progress in our quest to provide employers with higher confidence and reduced risk when recruiting candidates through our organization.”

Through this partnership, Criteria and Specialisterne plan to collect data to validate the predictiveness of Criteria’s assessments for autistic candidates, and to provide employers with an opportunity to leverage new and innovative models for recruiting diverse candidates.
